Tutorial :: Mini Encuadernado II

Un abrazo!

Hi there!
Here you have the tutorial I mentioned on this post. This is the easy bookinbinding toturial. Easier compared to Mini Encuadernado I that you can check here.
Here we go!
On the first photo, you can see the pages of the album folded once they were scrapped. I  used cardboard for the covers and adhesive fabric (tissue adhesive is called) for the spine.
The idea is to adhere all the pages side by side. For that, I used double-sided tape because this is the solid strongest adhesive that I know.
Once you have all the pages glued down, they should look like the foto 3

Tip:   I place a strip of double side tape a little bit far from the edge on one of the pages in the middle. It makes the album wider on the spine; this way you avoid having a tight spine and a big openning. This could happen if you tend to scrap with a lot of dimension! :D

Then I place the album on top of the cover and the fabric to measure the distance I need for the spine. As I do not like measuring, I normally go eye balling. ^^' foto 4
After that, I spread a coat of white glue on top of the fabric BUT only on the part that the covers are going to be touching the fabric. (this is why you have measured!) Afterwards, I place the covers on top of the glue. I make sure they are aligned.
Letf the covers flat a side and wait for them to dry. It doesn't take long but wait for 30 minutes if you want to be sure.
Now is the time when you choose two pages, one from the beginning and one of the last part of the album and then you make two holes on each page. foto 6 One at the top and one at the bottom. 1.50 cm/ 2 c.m from the edge. You can take advantage of the moment and place your covers and spine bellow (like Foto 4) and go through the spine too.
The important thing here is to align the holes of the spine with the holes in the pages. Your final album will be steadier.

Now let's go sewing! :D
You can start from the page of your choice (the one with holes from the beginning or the one with the holes from the final side of the album)
Reminder: If you start from the inside to the outside you will have the bow inside. And if you start from the outside, therefore the bow will be shown outside of the spine.
I want my bow to be inside so I start from the inside to the outside (foto 7)

I put the needle in the top hole and go through the album and ALSO through the hole on the fabric spine. Now I go all along the spine and I insert the needle at the bottom going through the fabric and the hole in the page. Once I 'm inside, I attach the both sides of the thread and I make a bow.
I repeat this whole thing with another piece of thread at the other side of the album where there are the other two holes remaining.
It has to look like Foto 8.

You may also ask: why is there two pair of holes if all the pages are attached.
The reason is beacuse of the weight and witdth of the album. If you attach the pages to the spine from two different parts  of the album it will be steadier and firm.

Now it comes the time of the covers. You will see a peek of the spine between the album and the cover. Ah! This is ugly... foto 9
I know two ways of solving this issue: With wide washi tape all along the edge as seen in foto 10 or placing another page on top of it. foto 11.
I attach the page with double-sided tape.
This is the method I prefer. It is the more secure for the album. In case the thread fall off, the pages would never will. In any case, I think the thread is a must to hold the album to the fabric spine.
This is how the album Cru&Cruni was made. If you have any doubt, do not hesitate to ask me. I hope you give it a try and then show it to me please!
Hugs!

Project Life:: Week 36 bis...y cambié?...

:D
Buen martes!
Un abrazo

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

... And suddently one day I had a lot of things to say. And I couldn't fit them in Handbook. I moved the cards all around the page protectors... "¿ Should I make a two page insert? ¿Should I just put one photo and just make a mini album for the wedding instead?"
I needed more room for photos and for "white space"
"¿ and what happens if I change"?
So I took the irrational option of changing format because the story just needed it. At that moment I really didn't know if I was going to stay in that format.
What do you think? Have I changed to 12x12 ?
:D
Have a nice tuesday!

Mini álbum :: Cru&Cruni

Buenos días!
scroll down for english text

Suerte!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Good morning!

I was eagering to show you this "mini" album! It was a commissioned work from him to her. And I know you, as scrapers, are used to keep (hoard) several things as photos and ephermera as memory keepers almost per default! :D But he... Let me tell you that I was given such an amount of details ( the ones that can be given and can be told! :D) to be placed in this album. Such a great responsability but It also made me thrilled to be taking part of this.
I felt very grateful to collect all the "things" and transform them into a scrapbook. I love when we can scrap knowing that we can make someone happy  and... what is more, it makes us happy afterwards!
Here I show you some of the pages of the book. I ejoyed a lot making the yellow page. There were 3 surprises there. One flap on the right, one rotatory flap on the left and an acordion structure inside. Loved that the design of the page didn't seem busy although there were so many things there.
There were also some pages with concerts tickets. Scrapbooks: great place to hold these items!
Finally I just wanted to say thank you for letting me join the thrill of this present.
And I hope you find some inspiration here!
Next week I am showing the second binding tutorial! The one I used for this mini book!Don't miss it!

Hugs for all!

PS: Remember today at midnight is the last day to join the raffle! Good luck!

Color de Noviembre de KdS

Feliz viernes! ^^

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Happy friday!
Today I bring you my color of the month for Kits de Somni! I must admit the tone of this color combination it would has never been my choice! I struggle a little bit when I saw it, but once I when for it, I saw it wasn't that difficult and it was pleasant for the eyes too! Wo!
I love this type of challenges that get you out of the comfort zone.
Will you give it a try? :D

Project Life:: W35-36

I don't care, I love it)...

Me gustará saber vuestra opinión...
Un besazo!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hello there!
Today is the turn for two weeks of my Project Life. They are from the last days of August and it really feels far away, but I am glad that I documented them, although it took so long. There are some important moments here, that now, they are forever in my album!
Week 35: I used a Kelly Purkey Kit and some embellishments from a SC Kit.
You can spot a Mr. Wonderful stamp at the bottom left of the first page.
And for the top right photo I used Rhonna Designs App to process it. First., I applied a mask and then, a clear circle to make a focus.
Week 36:I am sorry for the quality of the photo. It is really blurry and I did not notice it until some days ago. I will try to replace it in the future.
This was a week with mixed emotions. The new DT for Kits de Somni was announced. I was really happy but then I got sick, really sick.
I used the Kelly Purket kit and one card from Studico Calico. You can also see one of my first attempts of Letterpress technique. This was the third or the forth time that I run the plate with the same ink  through the big shot. You really can seize the paint!

That is all for today... Please, come back for the next update of my Project Life... I will like to know what you think...

Hugs for all!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi there!
I wanted to thank you for your excitement with the raffle... I am having such a good time, reading your comments! I hope I had a lot of goodies for you all! I will let you know, when I quit everything and I head to the montains and leave all my things behind ;)

Today I want to show you the sketch of November of Kits de Somni. It was an interesting challenge to work with this composition at an angle. Do not forget to check out the rest of the design team take on it. And do not forget you can join the challenge and win a disccount for the shop!

In the close up, you can see a detail of the modeling paste. Once it was dried I sprayed green mist. The rest is layering and trying to follow the sketch :D

Have a wonderful monday!

Hugs
