Project Life:: Junio Uno

Scroll down for english version

Espero que tengáis un gran día!

Un abrazo!

My spreads joining Olya's #letscatchuponprojectlife start here.
Well, I must confess, when my holidays ended up ,I didn't enterly cacth up. (woo!) I didn't get it by 3 weeks! But I consider the results moslty a win. 3 weeks behind is better than 2 months!
Currently, I have all my photos until last week inside the page pockets waiting for the cards and other actions. I hope I can do it this weekend. What do you think?
In fact, my main goal is to catch up before my trip in October. ( I can!)
The only way I was able to cacth up that many weeks was:
1_Have all my photos printed at once.
2_Distribute and place them inside the pockets by weeks or spreads without cards.
3_Embrace your inner minimalist to the max.
4_Consider finished some spreads that maybe you think that aren't. I mean, forget about those details that keep you arranging and re arrenging embelishments forever until you are mad.
For instance, the card with the circles, I think is unfinished - maybe a stamp?- but for the moment, I left it like that.
If you want to read a great reflection about cacth up process and some tips and tricks visit Olya's post or this one by Caylee. Amazingly well done.
This spread is plenty of details compare with the ones that follows. That gives you an idea of what is coming.
This week's highlights, not to mention that I found a Spiderman at the Barceloneta beach and I had the urge to have a photo with him - he is my faveorite superhero. Can't help it :P- I made a little doily flap to hide some private photos.
I hope yo have enjoyed it. Have the best of the days!

Project Life:: Mayo Tres

Estoy hablando de tarjetas Project Life! Y algunas, he de decirlo: me gustan mucho! ^^

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The comeback. Two weeks break here! That is more than I expected. I explained some of the reasons here and I must say I still haven't found the motivation I used to have.  I am not really in the mood to scrapbook. It is not that I am not inspired, i is just that I don't want to do it.
I know that I do not want to abandon Project Life though.
As I told you, I have been doing #letscatchuponprojectlife, Olya's challenge. And I have been also learning quite a lot with Photoshop! That is a big hurray for me beacuse I never thought I could achieve what I am doing now. I have made some Project Life cards and I have to say I like a lot some of them! Yay!
This PL spread is the last one I made before I started the catch up. I used 2 Inspire Lovely cards, 2 Studio Calico cards and 1 from Midnight edition.
That was a remarkable week when I sliced my finger cutting some veggies. That is precisely what is stated on that cute card with the tulle. This is why I blurred part of the text. It is a bit gore! :D I do not want faints over here! :)

To make that super simple card I used a piece of tulle that came in a Studio Calico kit. I wrapped the tulle around the card and I stapled the end to the card. Finally, I slided the journaling inside.
I love tulle. I have already used it in Mini albums (here and here my first mini album ever!) but never on PL spreads before. And you? Have you used it? Feel free to leave some examples if you did.
I think is a gorgeous fabric but it is quite difficult to make it look exactly the way you want!
I hope you liked this spread. If I make my mind clear regarding the blog I will let you know!
I hope you have had a nice summer! Big hugs

Scrapbooking: te estoy mirando a ti! :D
Abrazos

I am currently on a little summer lapse... and to be true, also on a personal/blog lapse in order to have some time to think. Some of the things that used to make me very happy are not making me now. Scrapbooking: I am looking at you! :D
Will see if it is temporary. That doesn't mean I have been doing nothing. There are a couple of things on the works that excite me a lot and I can't wait to tell you as soon as I can!
I have been also joining Olya's challenge #letscatchuponprojectlife and I hope to share my pages with you soon.
Meanwhile, you can check out my feature on Amelia's blog. Check out also her neat blog. She is a very sweet and inspiring person. See the special touch she adds to everything she does. So thankful for being part of her series!
Have a nice week!

DIY: Pinta tus cajas de madera

Scroll down for english version.

NOTAS: ¿Por qué he utilizado washi tape?

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have had these wooden boxes totally untouched for months. I just wanted some spare time to dive deep and make them mine.
At first, I just wanted to paint a beautiful home for my PL cards but they ended up being boxes for my scrap supplies too.
I am not discovering anything new here, but I thought I could make a little tutorial for you while I was painting my boxes on a sunday morning.
I used some new paints that I bought on Kits de Somni's shop and two Golden bottles that I had in my stash: Titanium white and Carbon black. I also used a standard brush and some washi tape to trace the drawing.
Maybe, you are curious and you ask yourself if I had designed the shapes on paper before starting to work. The asnwer is: triangles. That is all I had in mind. I was so in the mood to paint that I improvised all the boxes. I just couldn't wait!
I started from one corner and moved forward to the other. I tried to confine myself to just 3 colors and I mainly did it. Almost. You will see some examples where I just ignored my orders. :D
Washi tape here has two functions: Trace the shape and prevent the paint from surpass to the neighbor triangles.
Notes: At first, I used paint tape to mask the paint but it flooded to the bottom as you can see in the tutorial. I discovered washi tape leaves a neater and cleaner line.
Make sure the washi tape is well adhered to the wood, sliding your finger over the strip.
Also, do not be eager to move forward (like me) and wait some minutes for the paint to dry. You do not want to place a strip of washi tape over wet paint! Doesn't look good!
When I counted 3 boxes I decided to make something different (but just a little bit) I am that kind of person who repeats on the things she likes till I get bored (desings, colors, meals)
So I went for dots. You can see my approach watching the animated gif.
Now, I have these boxes all over my desk and although they are not totally tided up, the vibe here is far more festive. They are gorgeous to look at.
Above you can check out some of the boxes I made. I hope you like them.
You can see you do not need much to customize your wooden boxes :)
Big hugs

Inspiration Blog Hop!

Super sweet and super fun Olya Schmidt e-mailed me some weeks ago inviting me to join this Inspiration Blog hop. What a shock! :D So honoured she has asked me.
See her post here and enjoy reading her answers. It is so interesting reading other artists creative process and thoughts! Isn't it?

Now it is my turn:

1_ En qué estoy trabajando/What I am working on??

Currently, I am working on my summer goal: create a new blog. A new one that I like... and I'm trying to making it by myself! With this in mind,  I bought  this class on A Beautiful Mess and also, a friend of mine is going to give me a helping hand.
For now, I have been practicing on my brushscript with my tablet and with real brush too!

/How does your work differ from others of its genre?

I do not think I own a strong voice or a clear style yet. When I am working on a PL page I always feel like I am researching deep how I like things to be. That said, there are some starting points that I do know I like: fresh and clean look. Unbusy pages. Fun works and plenty of white space. I also like graphic and artistic touches :)

3_ ¿Por qué creo lo que hago?/Why do I create what I do?

It is a way of keeping me sane. So that makes me happy and gives me another reason to be proud of myself and about the things I create and the path I am doing. The truth is that I do not set out If I want to create. I just sit down in front of my desk and make things (nearly) every day. It is like a force that pushes me, encourages me and you just have to do it! ;D Also, If I get to inspire other people... that has no price!

4_¿Cómo funciona tu proceso creativo?/ How does your creating process work?
Recientemente, he podido constatar que funciono por colores principalmente.

Recently I have confirmed that I function with colors mainly.

Speaking of Project Life: I first choose the photos I want to work with, then I sort them on the pockets of the page protectors. At this point I also leave some notes about things I want to appear on that week.

Then, I stare at the photos and the colors that goes on them. I search cards and embellishemts that I think that go well together.

At this point I start to move things around until there is something that I like. Sometimes, I begin with an idea on mind (a special type of pocket, an alpha that I like, one beautiful card) but usually ideas comes out when I am working on in the middle of the storm :D
-you can check out the final spread here-

Now it is the moment to introduce you three girls that inspire me with their creations and who are going to follow up with this Inspiration Blog Hop! Thanks for stopping by!

Esther Ayala
Hi there! My name is Esther, I'm 37 years old and I live in Catalonia.
In my free time i'm scrapbooker, I enjoy like a child playing with my inks and making minialbums, art journals and layouts. My daily profession is also creative as well and i love it! I'm a winemaker:)
I am always full of vitality and energy and I need it now like "the air that I breathe"!! Because I'm a mom without any expertise of a precious baby girl of just one and a half month. All in all, in bad moments, my guide is the following: life is short, break the rules, forgive quickly, kiss slowly, love truly, laugh incontrolable and never regret anything that made you smile;)

Hola!!

Project Life:: Mayo Dos

Dos PL en una semana! Estoy que me salgo. :D

Gran artista y mejor persona! <3
Espero que tengáis un gran día! Vosotras estáis de vacaciones? A mí me queda 1 día ! Yeah!
Un abrazo

Two spreads in a week! I am on fire :D
As I told you, I am on major catch up and I tried to keep it simple. This time I behaved and  I did it. I must say that I like the result. So plain so simple. Love it like it is.
These two pages include my final move to my new home and my mom's birthday.
You can spot here one card of the collab between the sweet Olya Schimdt aka Paintpaper studio :D + Pixelpaperhearts. I absolutely love the pack and I can't wait to play with the rest of the cards!
You can also see here, cards by Studio Calico. One of them, Best show, designed by Jamaica (one of my fave Pl artists)  and the hot pink one by Kelly Purkey.
The yellow pocket card is also by SC.
At the end, the artwork you see is also by Olya. She made an auction on instagram in order to help out a woman with health issues. Awesome artist and incredible person. <3
Have a great day! ( 1 day before I start holidays! yay!)

Project Life:: Mayo Uno

Scroll down for english version.
Este fin de semana me he puesto las pilas y he acabado 3 páginas dobles de mayo. Bien!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I've been on fire this weekend and I've made 3 double pages for my Project Life! Wohoo! I tried to keep in mind the all so heard mantra: "Marta, keep it simple and just move forward" And I did... sometimes. ^^' I couldn't help to play around making some especial pockets. I just love it.
Here you have one of them. I took the Today card by Kelly Purkey and made a simple cut on the middle top part of the card. This cut was just a little longer than the photo I wanted to hide in order for it to slide properly. Then, I glued down a tab on the photo. It allows us to pull it out easily.
The rest of the cards are from Studio Calico, one patterned paper and the top letf card (LHS) is from a shopping bag. You can see it here.
I have the rest of the pages edited. I hope to post them soon!
Have a lovely day!
Hugs
